Plans change. Our rules try to be fair to both you and the host who is already preparing for your arrival.
The 48-hour rule
Cancel 48 or more hours before check-in and you get a full refund — no questions, no fees. This is the rule for every standard stay on HamroStays. A few specialty listings (multi-day retreats, full-villa rentals) have stricter rules clearly marked on the listing.
Standard cancellation
- More than 48 hours before check-in — 100% refund.
- Between 24 and 48 hours before check-in — 50% refund.
- Less than 24 hours before check-in — non-refundable.
Refunds go back to the original payment method.
No-show
If you don't arrive on the booked date and haven't messaged the host or HamroStays, the booking is treated as a no-show: non-refundable, host receives the full payout.
Host-side cancellations
If a host cancels on you — for any reason — you receive a 100% refund within 3 working days. We will also, where we can, help find a comparable property and cover the price difference up to 20%.
Hosts who cancel repeatedly are removed from the platform.
Force majeure
If your stay is made impossible by events outside everyone's control — earthquakes, landslides, bandhs, government travel restrictions — we issue a 100% refund or a free reschedule, whichever you prefer.
How quickly refunds arrive
- eSewa — within 24 hours.
- Cash bookings — by bank transfer within 3 working days.
Disputes
If you and the host disagree about whether a cancellation rule applies, write to hello@hamrostays.com with your booking reference. We mediate every case in person — usually within 48 hours.
